AestheticGamer1Shadows of the Damned is shaping up nicely, combining masterful third-person shooter gameplay, absolute style and abstraction of dark themes and humor, a strong audio department that oozes atmosphere, and all brought together from some of the master’s of the genre. However, it would be understandable if you weren’t quite excited about this game. There hasn’t been to much shown and it is having an unfortunate case of being under the radar, being a new IP that looks very inspired by the likes of Resident Evil 4 (which would make sense as the director of Resident Evil 4 is working on this title) and Suda51’s over-the-top, somewhat strange style he can call his own. With an abundance of other TPS, it would be easy to just pass this off as another shooter with demons in it. That is coming from the folks that only have looked skin-deep into the title and haven’t experienced the hell-trip for themselves. Maybe best described as some type of weird love-fest of Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry, Alan Wake, Killer7, and Dante’s Inferno with some strong Silent Hill-styled psychological twists, this title comes out next month and some videos have started popping up of an earlier area of the title.
