DOOM has a kickin’ soundtrack; ask anyone that’s played the game and they’ll be sure to mention it. Composed Mick Gordon spent a lot of time updating the DOOM sound, and the second behind the scenes video dives into just how he did that with equipment new, old, and Russian.
The latest entry in this series focuses on the synthesis techniques and Gordon’s pursuit of “pure” sound sources – from sine waves, noise and electrical distortion. He formulated tracks around these pure sounds, using dated synthesizers for an extra layer of noise and then performed them in all of their Djent glory. If you’re interested in seeing how the soundtrack for the new DOOM came to be, look no further than this series from Gordon himself.
Now, Bethesda, why can’t we freaking buy this OST officially?!
