We’ve already experienced Scorn on PC and Xbox Series, but now Ebb Software’s Giger-inspired horror title is coming to PS5. A recent teaser trailer gives us a reminder of what the game looks like, with its disturbingly beautiful aesthetic, but the teaser was also an opportunity to mention the new Deluxe Edition that’s coming as well.
Over on the PlayStation YouTube channel, the announcement says that the PS5 version of Scorn is due to launch sometime in fall 2023, so no exact date yet. As for the Deluxe Edition, a brief glimpse of it in the video shows the physical version of the game, as well as a steelbook case, digital artbook, and the original soundtrack. If you’re into all that, it might be worth checking out. Whether this edition will be coming to Xbox or PC, it doesn’t say.
In development for several years, to the dismay of many fans, Scorn finally dropped in October 2022, just in time for the Halloween season. While its visuals were pretty magnificent, in a gross-out kind of way, the game play itself was quite lackluster.
It wasn’t a bad game, but it didn’t seem to hit the mark the way horror fans were hoping for. It currently has a Metacritic score of 70 and 64 on PC and Xbox Series X, respectively, so it’s not bad…just not great. We did, however, nominate it for our Game of the Year 2022, though it did lose out to MAdiSON.
We’ll let you know as and when we discover when the PS5 and Deluxe Edition of Scorn will be coming out. For now, check out the reveal trailer below.
