S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of the Zone, the new film based on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise from filmmaker and YouTuber Evan ‘Evan Royalty‘ Muir, has debuted a new trailer as the film becomes available for a limited digital run.
Produced in collaboration with YouTuber Wendigoon and co-director Stephen Hancock – the latter of whom previously worked with Muir on the films SCP: Dollhouse and SCP: Overlord – the film looks to have an expanded scope over Muir and Hancock’s previous efforts. Boasting a runtime of 65 minutes, advanced special effects and plenty of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. flair, the film seems set to capture the evocative atmosphere that made the games so special.
Luckily, those wanting to watch the film now need not wait; the film is available now for a limited time at shadowofthezone.com, ahead of a wider release coming in the future. You can purchase it by grabbing an exclusive poster for $20, which will include access to the film until September 6th, 2024.
The film looks great and certainly a fantastic way for S.T.A.LK.E.R. fans to get their fix ahead of the release of Heart of Chornobyl, which is (finally!) releasing November 20th this year. It looks to be quite the lengthy experience, clocking in at around 100 hours, so Shadow of the Zone‘s leaner runtime might appeal to busier fans of the series.
Either way, it is a great time to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan and films like Shadow of the Zone prove that the appetite for more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. material will endure.
