S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Reaches 6 Million Players

GSC Game World has announced an impressive milestone for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which has now surpassed 6 million players. The Ukrainian development team shared this update through a post on Steam.

It’s unclear whether this number includes players on both Steam and Xbox, where the game is also available through Game Pass. Regardless, this achievement highlights the success of the survival shooter with RPG elements.

Released on November 20th for PC and Xbox, the game was added to Game Pass on launch day and quickly achieved strong sales. Within the first 24 hours, it sold 1 million copies and managed to recover its development costs within a month.

The developers expressed their gratitude, saying:

Today we are celebrating the 6 million stalkers who have come to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2: Heart of Chornobyl. Six million! A scope that is hard to comprehend, but it is real thanks to you. We are incredibly grateful and proud that each of you has left a unique mark in the Zone.

This milestone is even more impressive considering the game’s challenging mechanics, which may not appeal to casual players.

Recently, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 received patch 1.2, which introduced over 1,700 improvements, following an earlier patch 1.1.4.
