Russian cult classic “Pathologic” seeks Kickstarter funding

Pathologic

In 2005, Ice-Pick Lodge released their first game: a weird title about choice wherein you were tasked with fighting a deadly plague that threatens to devour a small, uncanny town. Despite its Russian origin, the game would grow an international fanbase and it even won a number of awards. However, it was also criticized for a variety of issues caused by the studio’s inexperience, which the creators tend to address with a well-deserved remake.

Pathologic tells a unique story and its atmosphere is equally special, so I am glad to see Ice Pick is working on fixing the delivery. The Kickstarter campaign launched earlier today and seeks to accumulate a total of $250,000, which they will have to raise before October 7, 2014. The studio enjoyed earlier Kickstarter success with Knock Knock and there is a lot of interesting information to be found on the funding page, including a breakdown of the features, design philosophy and how they intend to preserve the parts of the game players loved.

At the time of writing, $70,208 has already been raised, so the fundraiser is off to a great start to say the least.
