Well, that’s… actually a little surprising.
Despite Capcom working on getting Resident Evil 7‘s new RE Engine to function on Nintendo’s new console, Switch, Resident Evil: Revelations and Revelations 2 will be the first games in the series to hit the system. I mean, the former is generally beloved by the fan base, and the second is a personal favorite of mine, but it does feel odd considering that RE7 still has yet to meet it’s projected sales, while Revelations 1 at the very least is already on 5 platforms, soon to be 7. That’s Capcom for you. I am excited to have RE on Switch either way, especially after how… shit the previous portable version of Revelations 2 (on PS Vita) was.
In other Revelations news, the original will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 August 29th, and it has a slick new trailer. Of course, it will include all DLC released over it’s lifetime from the Xbox 360/PS3 release. Hopefully some of the corners that got cut (lighting, missing puzzle elements) will be reinstated for this latest version.
Oh yeah, there’s also a pretty sweet PS4 Dynamic Theme, inspired by the game’s main menu complete with a track from the game (regrettably not the beautiful main theme, but still a great piece).
