It’s already been confirmed that next year’s Resident Evil 20th anniversary celebratory, team-based shooter, Umbrella Corps, won’t see any classic characters returning. So we’re left with a group of mercenaries that, for the time being at least, seem pretty generic. Well, that could very well change, if this bit of news is any indication.
Well-known Albert Wesker voice actor, D.C. Douglas, previously retweeted our rumor article about Umbrella Corps, raising the question as to whether we would see Wesker in the game. Now that the game is official, he has shared the announcement trailer on his FB page, along with these words:
Well this could be fun… And that player sounds familiar….
Watching the trailer again, the player character definitely has a hint of Wesker in his voice. So, while we won’t get any of our favorite characters returning, we’ll at least get the voice behind the series’ most well-known villain.
I agree with D.C. Douglas. I think Umbrella Corps could at least be a fun game to play. I hope Capcom brings a preview build to NYCC next month so I can share my thoughts with you guys.
