Just like Milla promised with her tweets, today we got the first official trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution. Yeah, I know, last night we already posted a similar story– but that was the bootleg version. Now we got a high quality version for you guys.
The trailer is filled to the brim with action-packed sequences such as a peek at the Rolls-Royce scene (being chased by a giant Licker) and one striking scene where a swarm of Popokarimus (the giant bat boss from Resident Evil 5) are moving in on the White House (with Alice standing on top of it!). And, of course, we get to see a lot of Alice here. But Ada fans rejoice! We do get to see the lady in red here, too, and she’s looking mighty fine. Rain’s also back! How? We don’t know yet…But who can complain about Michelle Rodriguez reprising her role in the film.
I thought this trailer was pretty neat. It started off not unlike a Sony ad, suggesting that we’ll possibly see the world as it was before the outbreak, before showing the world gone to hell as it’s depicted in Retribution. Yeah, this may not make believers out of fans who despise the films that have come before, but it’s indicative of what’s definitely going to be a fun popcorn flick loosely based on our beloved series. And what’s more, it looks like we’re also going to get a prequel story stuffed into this, as that one shot showing a normal, civilian Alice suggests. Enjoy the trailer below.
