Resident Evil Village Supports 120 FPS on PS5 Pro

Resident Evil Village Remake Support 120 FPS on PS5 Pro, Capcom Confirms

Resident Evil Village is set to run at 120 frames per second (FPS) on the new PlayStation 5 Pro, Capcom has announced. This significant upgrade aims to provide players with an enhanced gaming experience that maximizes the console’s advanced technology. The news comes as part of a larger reveal where Capcom also detailed improvements for the Resident Evil 4 Remake on the PS5 Pro.

“For Resident Evil Village, we added 120fps gameplay to provide the best possible user experience on PS5 Pro,” Capcom stated in an official post. They explained that this boost in performance makes the game’s unique cast of characters appear more lifelike, enhancing the overall immersion and scare factor. The game will leverage the PS5 Pro’s “ultra-high-resolution technology” to deliver more detailed environments and natural visual effects.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake, which already runs at a higher frame rate on the base PS5, will also benefit from similar upgrades. However, Capcom did not specify if the game would reach the 120 FPS milestone, merely stating that it will run at a higher frame rate.

It’s worth noting that while these enhancements are exciting, there is no mention of ray tracing support in this update. This could mean players might need to choose between ultra-high frame rates and ray tracing features. However, the move to 120 FPS on a console is a first for Capcom, showcasing the potential of the PS5 Pro.

Fans of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake can look forward to experiencing these enhancements when the PS5 Pro releases on November 7th, 2024.
