Despite its recent focus on action, and the negative response from fans that style has spawned, one thing has remained constant in the Resident Evil series all the way from the very start: an infection of some sort.
Whether it be by a virus in a syringe spreading throughout an entire city, or a parasite, the series has always pit players against the infected. Yeah, even Resident Evil 5 retained this series staple. As a huge fan of that entry, I always argue that, story-wise, Chris and Sheva’a polarizing adventure was a natural evolution of the series and its strong focus on the infected. But that’s an article for another day!
Capcom has just released the second Developer Diary for the upcoming home console release of Resident Evil Revelations. Said video focuses on this very aspect of the series, also touching on the new virus that the former 3DS exclusive introduced, T-Abyss. The Ooze may lack in variety as a whole, but that in no way tarnished their threat and scare factor. Those things are pretty damn creepy.
