Thanks to a Project Umbrella staff member, we now have a translation of Resident Evil: Revelations’ plot summary which can be found on its official japanese site. The summary is as follows:
On the European sea in 2005…
The tugboat of one ship makes its path between the waves among the rolls of thunder over the night sea.
There were the figures of BSAA agents on-board, who had been dispatched to the report of missing persons.
The towering outline of the ship, which appears before their eyes is of a luxurious passenger ship in the case of what turned into a ghost ship itself.
Jill who finished checking the equipment muttered, as they approached the ghost ship.
“Surely, they are somewhere on this ship.”
However, the missing persons case was only the beginning of the nightmare…
And Jill still had no idea that it was the start of confinement in a whirling conspiracy happening behind the scenes…
I love the fact that Jill is treated as the main character here, and I also find this to be quite a set-up to what will most likely be a Resident Evil tale with twists and turns around every confined hallway’s corner. What’s also re-assuring, in regards to Capcom being set on making the franchise scary again, is that the premise of the game is very much alike to that of the original game’s. The STARS Alpha team is set to investigate the disappearance of Bravo team, in this case it’s the BSAA looking for some missing people aboard that ship.
Already, the game is sounding even more promising with it’s apparent and narrative throwback to the original game, let’s just hope we actually get to play this before 2011 closes.
