Earlier today we learned that, as mentioned by Haruhiro Tsujimoto, there might be a Resident Evil title releasing early this fall to coincide with the release of Resident Evil Afterlife 3D’s theatrical release. With that knowledge I decided to make a theory, backed up by concrete facts as you will note. While this may not be an official confirmation of a Resident Evil PSP bundle being in the pipeline ,though it is very likely to be, do not be surprised if Sony shows this off at E3.
Sony is known to have a strong love for commemorating their big psp releases with a bundle of some sort. God of War Chains of Olympus saw it and more recently, Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker is seeing its own bundle hit tomorrow. So it should come as no surprise that Sony may be planning a Resident Evil PSP Bundle. But then the question is: A PSP 3000 bundle? Or a PSP Go bundle?
We don’t have much information, hell we barely have any information at all, on Resident Evil PSP but we do know that the PSP Go and all its connectivity features will be what Resident Evil Portable will greatly utilize. With that being said, we also should take into consideration the recent push Sony has been giving potential PSP Go adopters to convince them to finally make that purchase. Sony is offering the PSP Go, still at its $250 price tag, with 3 free games: Little Big Planet, Socom Fireteam Bravo 3, and Ratchet & Clank Size Matters. Those are pretty nice incentives to convince people to jump on board with the umd-less PSP Go.
So back to the point. Sony may continue to show support for the Go and may announce a Resident Evil Portable Bundle. What could be in this bundle you ask? Resident Evil Portable pre-installed into the unit, all three Resident Evil films downloaded, and of course some type of promotion to get people to watch the new film. Oh and a crimson red PSP Go would be nice.
