Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’s multiplayer modes detailed in new trailer, Crimson Heads revealed

This first quarter of 2012 is going to be amazing for Resident Evil fans. We got Resident Evil: Revelations hitting the States on February 7, and Operation Raccoon City hitting a month later on March 20. Yeah, it’s a good time to be a fan! We all know that of the two, ORC is more action-focused and catered towards cooperative and multiplayer-loving players out there, so it helps to have a healthy selection of modes that can be tackled. ORC has just that.

The new multiplayer trailer that was just released today gives us a look at every one of the game’s multiplayer modes (that can be played as either a USS or Spec Ops operative) and their main objectives. You got Team Attack which is your standard Team Deathmatch (with a Resident Evil spin to it, of course). Not only will you have to focus on killing the other team, but you’re also going to have to worry about the hordes of zombies and BOWs that will be littered throughout the streets of Raccoon City, too.

Then you have Biohazard which not only sounds cool, but has a neat objective as well. Basically you have to retrieve the G-Virus samples scattered around the map and return them to your base.

Survivors is up next. Aptly titled, this mode has you surviving until the helicopter arrives for evac. Think of it as a horde mode of sorts, with loads of incoming enemies trying to off you before you can escape.

Lastly we got the previously revealed (with its own trailer) Heroes mode. Here you can play as classic Resident Evil characters taken from the games that serve as the bookends for ORC’s story (Resident Evil 2 and 3). You can opt to play as the good guys or bad guys, as you battle against each other. Was I the only one that was screaming like a little girl while watching Carlos and Leon work together? That was crazy. Oh, and I’ll be playing Jill 24/7.

And before I forget: CRIMSON HEADS ARE BACK, BABY.
