Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is ‘definitely locked in’ for release this winter

Let’s get this out of the way first: ‘this winter’ can mean anywhere between late 2011 (December 22) and early 2012 (March 19). So, with that knowledge, here’s the latest bit of news regarding Slant Six’s upcoming Operation Raccoon City.

Speaking with Capcom briefly over the matter– due to a complete lack of ORC news at last week’s TGS– Kotaku was able to get “winter” as an answer to when we can expect the game to be released. To reiterate this, Capcom told Kotaku that Operation Raccoon City is “definitely locked in for winter.”

Now, I’ve been saying this to friends and readers who have asked me many times about the game’s release date: I strongly believe that it’ll launch in early 2012. Despite being told at this year’s E3 by a Capcom rep’ that it’ll see release “when the snow starts falling,” I honestly don’t see the game coming out by year’s end.

“OK, Claire, now we wait.”
