Sometimes things just don’t go as planned when a new console launches. Sometimes you have people that gain access to things their eyes shouldn’t be seeing. Well, that’s what happened with the Wii U on its first day.
A NeoGaf user by the name of Trike was able to gain access to the Miiverse’s admin system. Here he was able to delete the account of any user listed. He was also able to see some unannounced games listed in the system’s debug menu. From a survey hinting at a new Yoshi’s game incoming to Metal Gear and Resident Evil listed as coming to the console. Wait, what?! Yes, Resident Evil.
No exact name for this “leaked” entry was listed, but this sort of makes a Resident Evil game for Wii U even more possible, despite not being officially confirmed or revealed. And, come on, we all know it’s just a matter of time before we get a new entry in the series on Nintendo’s amazing new console anyway.
Nintendo has responded to the REvelation that people were able to somehow access the system’s debug menu through Miiverse with the following statement:
“Please note that this was only a mock up menu and has now been removed and is not accessible.”
I’m having quite a blast with the console and I can’t wait to see how its sexy new GamePad controller can enhance the overall Resident Evil experience. Hey, that would make a good topic for a future reHorror!
