Capcom has just announced the long awaited Resident Evil 6. With the announcement comes a story synopsis and a trailer. The reveal is finally here!
Resident Evil 6 brings iconic characters Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield into the same game. Leon’s fight will pit him against his personal friend: the president of the United States, while Chris encounters a B.O.W. threat in China. There appears to be some new characters as well–that look playable– but their names have not been revealed. It seems that Leon and an unknown partner will be fighting in one part of the world while Chris will be doing the same in various areas in China.
The game will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 20th, 2012 (PC version to follow). Expect the game to have co-op, an over the top story, the ability to finally walk and shoot, and a bunch of new combat skills. Did I just see Leon do a slide-shot?
The No Hope Left website now links to the official Resident Evil Youtube page. This appears to have been the world’s shorted viral marketing stunt. We found out about the game within the same week!
Anyway, Resident Evil is now a real thing that you can all wait for. It exists for sure, and the trailer below makes it look like one hell of an action packed (is that a good thing?), zombie filled, B.O.W. monster fest. The graphics of the game have changed their tune quite a bit since Resident Evil 5. The game is dark and gritty. Even Leon looks grittier. Is the stubble?! As expected, the trailer has left fans with a million questions. Who’s the bald guy? Is that Sherry Birkin? What’s going on!?

Latest Addition to the Iconic Series to Release on November 20

Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.
In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Leon and Chris come together to face this unprecedented threat. They will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale.
