There has been talks for a while about the inclusion of Jensen Ackles to play Leon S. Kennedy in the Resident Evil film franchise. Originally he was supposed to be included in Resident Evil Afterlife as Leon, but then the roles were changed in order to make room for Chris Redfield to make his appearance. According to the IMBD website, Jensen Ackles is set to play Leon in the next installment. There is no official confirmation like all of the other cast members so far, so this is official word.
This is just a rumor since casting is still going on, and there was also word that Adrian Bristow was to play Leon no less than 2 weeks ago. It’s probably safer to say Jensen Ackles has a better shot since he was in talks for the part before.
So if this turns out to be true, Jensen Ackles will be slaying zombies with Milla Jovovitch, Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, and Boris Kodjoe next September. You can expect to be kept updated on this particular matter soon since filming for the movie is just around the corner!
Update: Milla Jovovitch has tweeted that Jensen Ackles is busy filming a t.v. show and is unavailable to play Leon!
“again, so we don’t waste time: JENSON ACKLES IS SHOOTING A TV SHOW AND IS UNAVAILABLE!” -From Milla’s Twitter.
Seems he wont be joining the cast after all. So far there is still no official Leon. Sorry about getting anyone’s hopes up!
