Capcom, in conjunction with GameSpot, recently held a Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City tournament where a group of lucky fans got to play an updated build of the game. Winners were given special USS-themed jackets, which look totally awesome. But let’s talk about the actual build of the game they got to play.
The demo showcased a couple of areas we’ll be able to traverse once the game hits: city hall and an underground area. It shouldn’t be surprising to anyone that there’s loads of zombies to take on in these areas, especially in city hall, with Lickers joining in the fun, too. But things get even better once the participants head deeper underground to take on one very enraged Mr. Birkin.
Now infected with his own creation (the G-Virus) William isn’t someone you would want to cross paths with. I have to say, his screams are quite unsettling and should make for truly intense battles with the classic baddie (if there are in fact multiple battles with him, which there really should be). And yes, in case you were wondering, the bulging eye ball on his shoulder is his weak point… The battle then ends when none other than HUNK himself comes in and tells the USS squad to get the hell out, leaving Birkin to himself. Let’s just say HUNK dropped the G-Virus sample he acquired before and now has to go through hell once more to get it back. For all this and more, you can view the footage below.
