Co-op within the Resident Evil series isn’t anything new. Just look at Resident Evil 5. So, in a move that may not be surprising, Capcom has opted to once again implement cooperative play into next year’s Resident Evil Revelations. Don’t worry, though, this is an entirely separate mode. But even so, it does look like it could be a fun time, whether you tackle it solo or with a buddy.
In Raid Mode you could take on a variety of different missions, all while leveling up your character and gaining new weapons. It definitely looks like it has that Mercenaries feel to it, and it makes sense to have it in Revelations since the previous 3DS Resident Evil title, The Mercenaries 3D, was all about said mode. I was just under the impression initially that Mercenaries 3D would be for those who enjoyed the co-op, action-packed elements of Resident Evil 5, and its respective Mercs mode, of course, while Revelations would offer a complete single player experience, devoid of any multiplayer aspect. But hey, why complain when Raid Mode actually looks fun.
