Was the overload of screens from earlier this morning not enough? Well, now here’s a new trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City to get you even more excited for the game’s release on March 20, 2012.
The trailer also comes straight from Gamers Day 2011 and it provides us a fresh new look at the game after months of not really having anything new– save for all the awesome tidbits dropped by Inserted Evil, of course. Well, we finally have a new trailer, and it’s balls-to-the-wall awesome! I won’t delve into it too much with this post, since I’ll be dedicating the next installment of reHorror to a full analysis of this and Revelations’ new story trailer, but I’ll briefly talk about some of the neat things found in the new trailer.
We finally get a good look at Nemesis and we even get to see William pop up towards the end of the trailer. HUNK, Leon, Claire, and Nicholai are also present here, solidifying their importance in the game. Oh, and did I forget to mention that there are loads of zombies? Yeah, there’s that too. New environments are also glimpsed, assuring us that we will in fact get to explore areas not traversed in past entries.
Yeah, Operation Raccoon City may be a squad-based shooter, upping the ante in terms of action even more than Resident Evil 5, but it still manages to retain that classic survival horror feel– just taken to the next level. Classic BOWs, loads of zombies, and classic characters showing up is more than enough to get me excited about Slant Six’s Resident Evil offering.
