If there’s one thing people love ranting about it’s the issue with DLC. A lot of publishers have opted to utilize the DLC model quite extensively, and it’s hurting consumer loyalty.
I don’t usually find myself complaining about DLC, but I’ll definitely admit that sometimes things could get a little ridiculous– and I can definitely understand gamers’ overall feeling of anger towards it. Capcom seems to get a lot of hate for their DLC plans, but what they’re doing with this first DLC for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is definitely something that should be embraced.
Capcom has just announced today that they’ll be releasing a Spec Ops mission as free DLC for the always very consumer-friendly price of free on April 10 in North America (no dates for other regions were given yet). The mission will have players take on the role of a Spec Ops soldier as they’re pit in the hell that is Raccoon City. The mission is to figure out just how this outbreak started, and who’s behind it. Of course, along the way you’ll face off with USS operatives, zombies, and classic BOWs. But there’s more. It’s also noted that we’ll witness a classic encounter between Jill and Nemesis.
Operation Raccoon City makes its way to retailers next week on March 20 in North America.
