Darkside Chronicles soundtrack coming from Sumthing Else Music Works

In many previous Resident Evil related posts, you’ve probably noticed how affectionate I am towards the series’ soundtracks- especially Resident Evil 2‘s. Well, the US is finally getting a release of what is more or less the definitiveversion of RE2‘s amazing score with Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles official soundtrack. Composed by Shusaku Uchiyama (Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City) and Takeshi Miura (Resident Evil Code Veronica), Darkside Chronicles’ score is a beautiful romp through the majority of Resident Evil 2 and Code: Veronica X’s soundtracks.

With new, modern reprisals of some of my favorite tracks (RE2’s “Main Hall” and “3rd malformation of G” and Code: Veronica X’s “Nosferatu” and “Alexia’s Lullaby”). And I haven’t even mentioned the 20 or so amazing original tracks, recorded specifically for the game, either for the game’s all new campaign “Operation Javier” or some of the new tracks added to RE2 and Code: Veronica X’s portions.

The soundtrack will be released on disk October 9th as well as a digital download through Amazon, iTunes, etc. Just in time to download it to your console of choice and play it during RE6 multiplayer matches perhaps? Or to scare up some more tension from Leon’s campaign with some classic tunes?

So, which is your favorite track? I’ve always been partial to any malformation of G, and even the “Escape from the Laboratory”, although honestly I think my favorite is “In pursuit of Sherry”, which was one of the aforementioned “added” tracks. Are you going to be picking this up day one? I know I will!
