Capcom wants to continue the Resident Evil Revelations series

The Resident Evil franchise has gone to some pretty interesting places throughout its evolution. Starting with Resident Evil 4, the main numbered entries became more action-heavy. Then came Resident Evil Revelations.

With the first Revelations game, starring Chris and Jill, Capcom gave fans an experience that combined the series’ classic horror elements with its modern style, all while telling a story that filled in the gap between Resident Evil 4 and 5. Revelations 2 was a similar affair, but it delved more into horror than action, while finally bringing back Claire and Barry in a story set between Resident Evil 5 and 6. So, where does a potential Revelations 3 go?

Resident Evil producer Michiteru Okabe and director Yasuhiro Anpo have discussed the Revelations spin-off series in the latest video in Capcom’s series of developer interviews celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise. In it they express interest in making another Revelations game. And it will once again serve as a narrative bridge between the main numbered games (most likely between 6 and the inevitable 7th entry). They also stated how Revelations will continue to focus on lesser used character. They’re going to keep it horror-oriented, too, for the fans.

So, I’m still sticking with my theory that Revelations 3 will star Rebecca. Especially after her newfound exposure with Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster.
