Capcom unboxes Japanese-exclusive Resident Evil Anniversary Collection on U.S. soil

Capcom Unity has posted an unboxing video of the 15th Anniversary Collection set of the Resident Evil series. While the collection is not selling outside of Japan, they thought it would be funny to have their American Capcom-Unity team member unbox it and tease us. Jerks.

After an extended struggle with magical Japanese packaging material, Mikeeb finally reveals the pretty contents of the collection. Resident Evil: Directors Cut, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and the OSTs for Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica are in a fancy black box. Some bonus pins along with the original manuals for the PSX titles come in another part of the set.

Exclusive to Japan is the retail disc for both Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X on PS3. Capcom will be bringing those titles to the states as downloads, and have not confirmed a retail release outside of Japan.

Lastly, a sleeve for Resident Evil 5 is included for collections sake.

A set like this would be great outside of Japan. Capcom knows people would buy it. I would personally love a retail version of the Revival Selection games. I’m not a fan of import fees. It’s a shame that Capcom has not spoke out on releasing it here.
