When Resident Evil Revelations 2 launches its first episode early next year, players will be able to once again take on the role of Claire Redfield. Though some may not be fans of having a partner by your side all the time, Revelations 2 will team you up with quite a significant character that already promises to bring forth some new revelations about a certain family from the series.
Moira Burton is one of Barry’s two daughters, who we know a bit about thanks to files found in the classic games. We all know Barry is a family man. Hell, Wesker even used that to his advantage by forcing him to go against his own comrades in order to ensure the safety of his family. Now we might learn of a certain tragedy that affected the Burton household at some point.
When players switch to Moira, they won’t be able to wield firearms. Using her trusty flashlight and a crowbar you end up finding, Moira serves as an evolution of the first Revelations’ Genesis scanning mechanic in a way, but she’s still going to bring forth a big revelation of her own. There’s a reason why she refuses to use a gun, which we see in a scene in the TGS demo where Claire offers her one. And that reason has to do with a tragedy that happened in her past. Now this raises the question: What happened to her sister Polly? Did an accident take place that cost Polly her life, perhaps having to do with a gun being wielded by an unstable Moira? The game’s producer, Michiteru Okabe, has promised that the reveal of this tragedy will be “huge” and an “important part” of the story.
So it’s time to speculate!
