As if we weren’t smart enough to know that Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D wasn’t the last film in Paul W. Anderson’s series of “adaptations”. Next year, on September 12, 2012, we’ll be receiving the 5th film in the Resident Evil movie franchise and with the reveal of a certain character at the end of Aftermath, we can all probably guess where this is going.
Despite uproars in unison by faithful fans of the highly acclaimed video-game franchise, Hollywood will in fact keep spitting out these films. Hell, they make money so why not?
Such an announcement is bound to stir up feelings of happiness/anger within fans of the series, so here’s the tail-end of this announcement to help seal the deal. The film, like Afterlife before it, will be in 3D. It’s time to see some more slo-mo zombie slaying in the ever so popular realm of 3D!
No concrete dates for when principal photography will begin but it’ll most likely start shooting late this year early next. With scouting for locations to start some time before that. Let’s see what game(s) they draw inspiration from now. I would love to be excited for a potential inclusion of Leon “Ladies Man” Kennedy, but Paul W. Anderson and crew might end up butchering his character…
