Several games in the series have significantly contributed to this success. Resident Evil Village sold 10 million copies, making it the fastest-selling installment in the series. The Resident Evil 2 remake reached nearly 14 million copies, while the Resident Evil 3 remake sold over 8.7 million copies. The Resident Evil 4 remake, released in March 2023, has already surpassed 7.6 million copies sold. Additionally, Resident Evil 7 has sold over 13.3 million copies worldwide.
Capcom noted that all business segments exceeded expectations, resulting in substantial profits for the company. The Resident Evil series has seen a significant resurgence over the past decade, particularly following the release of Resident Evil 7 in 2017.
