Get hype get hype get hype!
This was not how I expected my day to end, and I’m foaming at the mouth. The Resident Evil Ambassador Program has been one of our only sources of new RE7 info (well, official RE7 info), sharing the herbs, teasing a revelation about the mystery finger, etc. Today, we have what’s possibly the most exciting info yet.
Okay, so the first image is pretty interesting, as we’re introduced to what is more than likely Lucas Baker, the “bad seed” Andre talks about in the Beginning Hour demo.
As you can see, we appear to be joining… The Family… for a nice sit-down meal at the dinner table. A meal of… guts and offal. Weee. Jack and Marguerite are both present, and the third member (who I’m assuming is Lucas, but who knows) seems to be menacing us. The new character looks the most modern of the three, as well as the youngest, sporting a black hoodie that reads ‘L.O.S.’. It’s hard to say what exactly that could stand for, but odds are that the L stands for Louisiana, the state the game takes place in. We can also see what looks like another kitchen (not the kitchen from the Beginning Hour demo) in the background, with notes, a calendar and more tacked to the walls.
Another thing that’s very interesting here is that there’s a fourth party present as well. Look in the bottom left corner. There’s a hand there, presumably resting on the end of a chair’s armrest. My guess is that it’s the woman who murdered the shit out of Pete (the Weekend sub). I almost wonder if this is a scene from moments after Kitchen, the PSVR tech demo that was revealed to be a short continuation of Begining Hour‘s final sequence. That after Pete dies, Clancy is dragged into the next room and forced to sit with the Bakers as they dine on their putrid gruel. Hey, at least there’s hot sauce!
But the real excitement comes from the next image shared with the Ambassador program.
Holy shit holy shit holy shit. So there’s been a million and one theories about what to do next in the Beginning Hour demo, one in particular has spotted some strange shadows on the far wall of the third floor telephone room. Looks like those suspicions where absolutely correct, as we now have a look at that very same wall torn away, and a hallway beyond. We can see a window, another mannequin, and some more boxes, but most of all we can see the next step to take.
Now this has me curious about a lot of things, but most notably: Does this mean that we can break this wall down? Have we just been going about it the wrong way this whole time? Or will the wall be removed with an update, to coincide with RE7‘s TGS showing? Either way, I am excited beyond words at this new revelation, and cannot wait to sink my teeth into more RE7 as soon as possible.
We’ll let you know as soon as we do about what this revelation means.
