Fans of the Resident Evil series are in for a treat as Capcom is re-releasing the original Resident Evil 3 on GOG, scheduled for September 25, 2024. This marks the final installment of the original trilogy to land on GOG, following the releases of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 earlier this year.
According to a GOG, the game is designed with modern systems in mind. It features full compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, improved graphics, and rendering options like Windowed Mode, Vertical Synchronization, and more. Additionally, it supports modern controllers such as the Sony DualSense, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch, making the experience more accessible to today’s gamers.
With this release, fans can also enjoy bonus features like Mercenaries Mode and multiple localizations in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese, among others.
This re-release follows Capcom’s successful remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4, which have all gained significant attention in recent years. Now that the original trilogy is complete, it remains to be seen if Capcom has similar plans for other classic titles like Resident Evil Zero or Code Veronica.
