Capcom has confirmed that the Resident Evil 2 remake will launch on iPhone, iPad, and Mac on December 31. Players will even have the chance to try the game for free before making a purchase.
Originally announced in June, the port is designed to work on the latest Apple devices, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, and future models. All iPads and Macs with Apple’s silicon chips will also support the game. Capcom confirmed that “A limited part of the base game can be played for free,” but players must make an in-app purchase to unlock the full experience.
The game will be compatible with the latest Apple devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, and newer models. Additionally, any silicon-powered iPads and Macs will support the game. Buying the game on one platform will give players access to it on the other, ensuring a seamless experience across devices.
Touch controls will be available, but Capcom recommends using a controller for the best experience. “It can be played on an iPad, but using a controller will provide a better experience,” says the game’s App Store listing.
Rely on Horror’s review of the Resident Evil 2 remake gave it a score of 10 out of 10, stating, “Resident Evil 2 is a modern masterpiece of survival horror, a healthy serving of a classic genre we haven’t had a real taste of in over a decade.”
