UPDATE: Tecmo Koei responded to my inquiry and confirmed that the game will release in Europe on March 28, 2014.
Deception IV: Blood Ties will launch on the 24th of March, 2014 for both the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita, allowing players to once again taste what it’s like to play on the evil side.
In the game, players take control of Laegrinna who has to free an imprisoned demon by luring her enemies into traps. The trick is to put the various traps at strategic points and activating them at the right time in order to string together the best combos, which rewards you points based on how elaborate, humiliating or sadistic the traps were. The Playstation 3 version of the game will allow players to upload their scores and challenge others to outdo them, while the handheld version features touchscreen controls for activating traps and has both Cross Play and Cross Saves.
It’s games like these that make me regret not owning a Playstation 3, but I am glad that those who do can now once again enjoy this series. Sadly, there is no news on whether or not the game will be released in Europe, as the email I received only specified an American release date. If I manage to clear this up, then expect a news update later this week.
