RE2 Remake: Behind the Scenes Panel Coming to SDCC

Mmmmfff someone better bring a camera to film some RE2 stuff!

San Diego Comic Con was a huge part of my childhood, I went every year from ages 5-18, and it still gives me a fluttery feeling of nostalgia to read about today. If only I could go again, especially this year, as Capcom have announced a panel featuring new behind the scenes info on Resident Evil 2 Remake! The SDCC panel schedule has been released, and in amongst dozens of other events (including a spotlight on my old friend Mike Mignola, a 25th anniversary screening of Nightmare Before Christmas, and more!) there’s a special Resident Evil panel planned for Friday,  July 20th starting at 12:45pm. From the schedule:

You have once again entered the world of survival horror. Hear from producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and staff of the recently announced Resident Evil 2 on how CAPCOM reinvented a celebrated classic 20 years later. Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, the Raccoon City outbreak, and a few other surprises you won’t want to miss. Cosplay is encouraged.

Maybe a new trailer, or at the very least some new footage or screens showing off the game? Whatever gets shown off I’m aching to see it, so for anyone in attendance, please bring a camera with you and record the whole thing. Odds are this panel won’t have any sort of official recording, so you might be the only way others can see it! No matter what gets shown, I can’t wait to know what it is! The presentation will be held in Room 6BCF, which is one of the larger presentation halls in the building (not the largest, I think that distinction still belongs to hall H), but there’s still probably going to be one hell of a line to get in so if you’re planning to go, bring some video games to keep you occupied because the wait may be hours. Why not a Vita and Resident Evil 2 Classic?

Resident Evil 2 Remake of course releases this coming January 25th, across Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
