The circus-themed psychological horror game Reveil has received a release date, as well as a special Funhouse edition.
Pixelsplit, the German-based studio behind Reveil released a new short trailer which let’s us know exactly when we will be able to explore the atmospheric world of the narrative-driven game world.
According to the new video, Reveil will be ready to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox Series X|S on March 6th, 2024. Personally, I really enjoy having games announce their releaes relatively shortly in advance, so this is definitely getting me excited as the previous trailers already looked quite intriguing.
Reveil will also be available for consoles of the previous generation, however Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners will have to wait a bit longer before they can enjoy the puzzles in the crazy circus seen in the game.
If you can’t get enough of crazy clowns, publisher Daedalic Entertainment is also releasing a Reveil Funhouse Edition at launch.
The Funhouse Edition includes:
Five original songs written and produced for REVEIL, featured in previous trailers
Digital Artbook filled with 41 pages of atmos-fear
An unlockable black-and-white camera effect
Unlockable developer commentary
An encore of five audio plays that allow players to dive deeper into the world and lore of REVEIL, recorded with the original voice actors from the game
There is also some official info from the developers which should get you excited to jump into the circus ring:
Come one, come all! REVEIL releases on March 6th, 2024, and has to be seen to be believed. In the psychological horror title, players will be challenged by puzzles, dizzying displays that defy understanding, and unlocked memories brought to center stage while playing as Walter Thompson, a father and husband who is thrust back into the haunting images of the Nelson Bros. Circus where he once worked. Searching for his missing wife and daughter, he must use his wits to navigate several chapters of interlaced narratives across backdrops dripping with atmosphere. Take heed, and take notes, as there are plenty of details that will help you discover the truth.
Pixelsplit has pushed the Unity game engine to the absolute limit to achieve beautifully rendered, and downright terrifying, spaces that will immerse you in a world of horror and surrealism accentuated by terror-accentuating illumination. When it’s all put together you’ll find yourself in the incredibly atmospheric experience that is making your way across the Nelson Bros. Circus. And thanks to the development team’s diligence, REVEIL will ultimately be available for all fans of horror on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Reveil will be released on March 6th for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
