Originally released in 2021 on PC, NC Studios’ Project Nightmares Case 36: Henrietta Kedward is now coming to PlayStation and Xbox on April 27 Studio courtesy of Feardemic. Our longtime readers will know Feardemic for bringing us the likes of DARQ and Dark Fracture, so its name being attached to this indie release will be pleasing to many.
For those who haven’t checked out the Steam version, you play a patient who investigates the paranormal through cursed items. You form a connection with Henrietta Kedward, a mysterious old woman with a terrifying past, via a doll with a “strong malignant energy.” Case 36 relates to Henrietta and the events you must explore in order to solve the mystery and dispel the evil energy.
You’ll get the chance to explore her nightmarish memories by way of the titular Project Nightmares, a group of scientists studying the paranormal via telepathy. Having exhausted all the usual investigative methods, they turn to a device called Hypnose, which allows the subject to enter a dream-like state in order to explore Henrietta’s twisted past.
Project Nightmares Case 36 has procedurally-generated elements, so even with multiple playthroughs, you won’t be sure what’s going to happen next. There are puzzles to solve and limited lighting to aid you. The game’s dream-like visuals give it a creepy vibe, and the procedural mechanics make it unpredictable.
Project Nightmares Case 36: Henrietta Kedward is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 27. No doubt it will be of great interest to fans of supernatural horror who have yet to play it. Remember to check out the console trailer below.
