Playing With Fear, a horror game documentary hits Kickstarter

Playing With Fear, a documentary exploring the video games industry’s most interesting genre, horror, has hit Kickstarter. Planned to begin filming next year if funds are met, Playing With Fear is set to explore the horror genre from its earliest titles to contemporary classics like Amnesia, as well as taking a look at future titles from the studios behind Routine, Neverending Nightmares, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Among The Sleep, and more. Developed by Anthony Carpendale, Playing With Fear is asking for £25,000 (roughly $40,000) to get funded.

The documentary will not only be looking at brilliant games within the genre but also feature interviews with prominent horror developers and give us an inside look at horror game development. Interviews with developers such as Thomas Grip, Erin Reynolds, and Jasper Byrne will appear alongside visits to several studios across the world. Playing With Fear, if funded, will release as free webisodes in 2014 and then as a feature documentary.

I wish this Kickstarter the best of luck. A documentary on the horror genre would be quite nice to watch. What say you, readers? Are you planning to pledge to Playing With Fear?
