Kinetic Games announced that their hit horror game, Phasmophobia, has surpassed an impressive 20 million copies sold worldwide.
In a press release, Daniel Knight, Managing Director & Lead Developer, expressed his gratitude:
We are absolutely thrilled to see Phasmophobia reach this incredible milestone of over 20 million copies sold. The journey has been nothing short of amazing, and it’s all thanks to our dedicated community of players who continue to share their passion for the game. We’re excited to keep expanding the Phasmophobia experience and look forward to what the future holds.
Originally a solo project by developer Daniel Knight, Phasmophobia entered Early Access on Steam in September 2020. Since then, Phasmophobia has consistently grown in popularity, recently expanding to consoles, with 250,000 additional copies sold since its console Early Access release on October 29th, 2024.
To mark Halloween, Kinetic Games introduced the “Crimson Eye” event, available to all players until November 13th. This event challenges players to tackle objectives across high-activity paranormal sites, which rewards players with blood points to unlock exclusive items and upgrades.
For those unfamiliar with Phasmophobia, it puts teams of up to four players in the role of paranormal investigators. Armed with specialist ghost-hunting equipment, players collect supernatural evidence in a variety of haunted locations.
Phasmophobia is available in Early Access on PC via Steam, PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox X|S priced at $19.99/£16.75/€19.50.
