Players on PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S versions of Phasmophobia have waited several months, but they can now finally use the game’s voice recognition features to interact with ghosts.
This feature has been available on PC for years but was missing from the console versions released in October of last year. This limitation affected gameplay, as the microphone allows players to use certain gadgets, like the Ouija board, more effectively, and communicate with the ghosts to gather evidence and identify the type of spirit present in the mission.
The launch of voice recognition on PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S was announced in a post by the Phasmophobia team on X. The post also reminded fans that the game supports crossplay across all platforms, including PC.
For those unfamiliar, Phasmophobia is a multiplayer horror game where four players form a team of paranormal investigators who must investigate haunted locations and gather evidence of paranormal activity using various tools and gadgets. Correctly identifying the ghost’s identity earns players money to buy more advanced equipment, as long as they survive.
ICYMI, voice recognition is available now on the console versions #Phasmophobia. The perfect time to pick up your Spirit Box and (thanks to full cross-play support) get ghost hunting with friends across Steam, PlayStation 5, PS VR2 and Xbox Series X|S.
