A major update to Phasmophobia was made today. Kinetic Games’ Phasmophobia: Ascension adds a brand-new leveling system, with new unlocks, a prestige system, and new rates of progress. All equipment items will now have three different tiers and can be upgraded by pressing the on-screen UI tile and selecting “upgrade.”
Phasmophobia is a psychological horror online co-op ghost hunting game. You can use a variety of ghost-hunting equipment like EMF readers, motion sensors, cameras, and UV lights. Your goal is to gather as much evidence as possible in haunted locations with your team or on your own.
Earlier releases have surpassed sales expectations and enjoyed great popularity by horror gaming fans.
Some items have also been renamed in this update, for example, the sanity drink, pills, and shots are now just called “sanity medication.” The D.O.T.S. evidence type was completely redone, and can now entered a short “DOTS state,” in which they temporarily become visible with infrared light and wander toward a player. DOTS ghost photos will now count as normal ghost photos, as well.
Some items are not considered consumables. If you use one of these items during a contract and it is marked consumable, you will have to purchase it again. This includes items like crucifixes, incense, salt, igniters, and sanity medication.
A new camera system will evaluate the angle and distance of evidence photos. Better photos of evidence will get a better reward.
There are also graphicalupgrades, like re-baked lighting in all the locations and UI changes. Some items, like the incense and crucifixes, will have a longer range or duration. Light range has been reduced in order to optimize the game’s performance.
Kinetic Games also has a Discord server if you want to discuss issues or give feedback!
You can purchase Phasmophobia now on Steam.
