A new update is inbound for Phasmophobia. In fact, Kinetic Games has laid out a roadmap of ideas that are supposed to be on their way either this year or next. There’s been talk of making the game scarier, as well as adding (or at least altering) some of the maps, and implementing what appears to be quite a lot of new ideas and changes in general. Recently, a new trailer rolled out advertising the next major patch for the game.
Titled “Phasmophobia Apocalypse,” the video shows what’s next for the ghost hunting release. Perhaps one of the things that many are looking forward to is the addition of new maps. While not wholly new, as such, they do offer up changes to some of the current locations. For example, there will be Camp Woodwind, which is a small variant of the Maple Lodge Campsite area, and Sunny Meadows will have five small maps in one.
For fans of the indie horror title, they only have until 27th September for the update to begin rolling out. Considering the game is still technically in alpha, Kinetic Games is working hard to improve and tweak the experience, plus add a lot more content, presumably before unveiling the full release of the game.
There’s more on the horizon for Phasmophobia, such as new character models, changes to the ghosts, new equipment, some overall optimizations, and likely some bug fixes as well. In short: there’s a lot to be excited for when it comes to this independently made co-operative title that’s still the go-to for many horror streamers.
