Maybe not the news PC Resident Evil fans were hoping for, but it’s on the right track, at least.
WBacon, a Capcom Community employee, finally gave us a few details on what’s taking so gosh darned long to get Resident Evil VII: Biohazard‘s demo (which has thus far been a PS4 exclusive) onto Steam. Looks like it’s purely technical, and not part of some continued deal with Sony.
Now, of course, this doesn’t explain why Xbox One doesn’t have the demo yet either, but it’s at least something. It really would suck to have some of RE7‘s details spoiled by data mining (WBacon has even since made his Steam profile private when other users noticed him playing RE7), but I can understand how much it must suck to not be able to play yet either. Fingers crossed that the delay isn’t too much longer, especially considering the game itself is only three months away. There was some speculation by fans that maybe the World of RE7 videos were building up to the release of the demo on other platforms, but it looks like that isn’t the case if the delay is more technical than it is for showmanship. Guess we’ll find out, soon enough.
