Pathologic 2 Receives a New Trailer Ahead of PAX West

Pathologic 2

Ice-Pick Lodge, the developers of games such as The Void and Knock-knock, dropped a new trailer to hype a PAX West appearance for their next major project, Pathologic 2, a sequel for the acclaimed original. In addition to showcasing the gameplay, the trailer gives a better glimpse at the world and shows some of its strange inhabitants in action.

Pathologic 2 is an open-world survival horror game, set in a town being torn apart by a vicious plague. It is up to the player to find the bare necessities such as food and water, as well as the tools for their survival. Pathologic 2 promises a variety of ways to do so, whether it be through stealing, scavenging, or negotiating. That said, the game warns that time is limited, as the player only has 12 days to make an impact on the world around them.

We know from The Evil Within 2 that an open-world can mesh very well with survival horror if executed properly, so it will be interesting to see if Pathologic 2 can pull it off. Fortunately, the world Ice-Pick Lodge is developing- as well as its inhabitants- seems genuinely interesting.

You can follow the game on Steam here, and you can read our review for the original game as well. Sign-up for the Pathologic 2 alpha is available on their website. Have you played the original Pathologic, and are you looking forward to its sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
