Oxenfree is still one of my favorite games this year. It’s a survival horror adventure game wrapped in beautiful watercolor visuals. The story revolves around a girl named Alex and her friends as they venture to a remote island for a little getaway. Of course, things don’t go as planned, and we end up dealing with some… supernatural threats, to say the least.
Originally launching on Steam and Xbox One earlier this year, Oxenfree will now be hitting PlayStation 4 with its “Director’s Cut” release on May 31. This edition of the game will come with some PS4-exclusive features like having the controller serve as the game’s radio device (an item that gave us some pretty creepy moments).
We’re also getting a New Game + mode (across all platforms). This won’t just be a simple “start over from the beginning” type of deal. No. We’re actually getting an extension of the story with new locations to explore and endings to achieve. In the end, this will give us a clearer picture of the horrible events that have happened on the island.
