It’s not every day that I get to report on a game releasing for the Ouya system, so I always look forward to what kind of interesting title is in development next. Today, for example, I am here to tell you about a point and click adventure game about a childhood adventure gone horribly wrong.
In Rose: Time Apart you play as the titular Rose, a tomboyish girl, twelve years old, whose football ends up landing in the garden of a scary, abandoned mansion. Of course curiosity claims a hold of her and she chooses to explore a bit, resulting in an adventure to discover what happened in the house thirty years ago. The game is a homage to movies from 1980’s and is being developed and published by a group of people from Israel.
The game will run on the Unity engine and will initially release for the Ouya, since that allows them to participate in a program that doubles their Kickstarter funding in return for Ouya exclusivity. After they are no longer obligated to keep the game on the Ouya, it will also come to mobile devices; a PC and Mac version will be available on day 1 as well, as these are not included in the exclusivity deal. The team has 25 days left to raise a minimum of $10,000, but they already raised 18% of that at the time of writing.
