Red Barrels’ Outlast will receive its DLC Whistleblower in the first week of May, according to an announcement some minutes ago. North American gamers can expect a return visit to Mount Massive Asylum on May 6 on both PC and PlayStation 4, with a release in Europe a day later.
Whistleblower takes place both before and after the events of Outlast, giving us a look at the asylum before its descent into chaos. The DLC will put us in the shoes of the employee that tipped off Miles, the protagonist of Outlast, to the strange activity taking place at in the mental hospital.
The DLC was originally supposed to release in April, so it appears there has been a slight delay – but I’m sure it is for the better. Outlast was one of my favorite games last year and my very first 10/10 review score. I called it “wonderfully viscous and masterful”.
