If you still haven’t played The Outlast Trials, it’s currently discounted on Steam. However, if you’ve been waiting for the console ports to be announced, you’re in luck. At this year’s The Game Awards 2023, developer Red Barrels revealed that the new Outlast game will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox on March 5, 2024.
More specifically, it’ll be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, so if you’re still on previous-gen hardware, you won’t have to miss out.
No mention of it coming to Switch yet, but given that the previous installments did eventually get released on Nintendo’s hybrid console, it’s fair to assume Trials will get a port as well. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the studio has confirmed that the game will be “cross-play without cross-progression.”
Console players will soon join The Outlast Trials!
Coming to Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on March 5th, 2024 💉

Although Outlast Trials wasn’t up for any nominations, this year has been pretty good for horror fans at The Game Awards. Alan Wake 2 took home three awards, including Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best Game Direction. It was even up for Game of the Year, up against the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Resident Evil 4. Baldur’s Gate took home the trophy in the end.
We also learned about a new horror game coming from the minds of Hideo Kojima and Get Out director Jordan Peele, as well as being treated to a new trailer for Hallblade 2. Outlast Trials has, however, been nominated for a number of categories at the much smaller Horror Game Awards, which will be taking place on December 16.
