Outlast 2 developer Red Barrels has today released a teaser trailer for the game, omitting any straightforward info for a backmasked message. Reversing the trailer reveals that the distorted sounds and creepiness is in fact a preacher-type character stating that the long awaited “reckoning” will come on April 22, 2016. Below we have uploaded a reverse version of the trailer and what we could transcribe through the voice’s insane (and distorted) ramblings.
Children, you lovers of God … defenders of his paradise. All our years of suffering come together now in this glorious day of peace. Peace! Evil in the corrupt and the filthy tongue of the Romans in the puritan city. On the fourth month and twenty second day of the sixteenth year of the third millennium, our reckoning begins. The spider-eyed lamb waits at the harlot’s … hungry for this world, ready or not. For the good Earth thirsts for blood and we, like the angels, must show no mercy. God loves you.
By all accounts, it sounds like we’ll be seeing more of Outlast 2 at PAX East. I think I will; I have an appointment set up. But for what exactly? I’m not sure! I can’t wait to find out.
