It’s been a few years (ten in fact), since the original Dead Rising released, but there’s no denying it’s a classic.
Even with all the improvements made to the series of the years, I still prefer the very first from 2006. From it’s complicated gameplay that punishes the slightest mistake to it’s great mix of hard-core gore horror and satirical humor. But the game was only ever available on Xbox 360 (the Wii port doesn’t… doesn’t count). If this news from PlayStation Lifestyle is to be believed, that might be changing soon.
Dead Rising‘s full achievement list has been listed in Trophy form by Exophase, which should be taken with a grain of salt, but might be an indicator that the zombie Anything and Everything game might be heading to PlayStation 4. Capcom has made it kind of a thing now, porting older games to the new consoles, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised that this game would be coming to PS4, especially considering that (for the moment anyway), Dead Rising 4 is exclusive to Xbox One and PC, and it’s the game’s tenth anniversary this year. Capcom has already made it clear that they have more announcements waiting to be made this year, especially one for Resident Evil, so it’s very likely that we’ll be hearing about this sooner rather than later, if it is indeed true. I’m betting on a September, TGS announcement. We’ll keep you in the know.
