The Gaming Liberty recently sat down for an interview with American McGee of Alice fame to discuss all things Alice and The Madness Returns. We’ll direct you to their site for the full interview, but we’ve also picked out some juicy information – y’know, in case you just want the gist of it.
Eleven years was just the right time – what was required was for a studio to be established that could tackle the job and for the audience to build up enough excitement and ecpectation. The time has also given us a chance to listen to the fans of the first Alice and respond to things they loved about the game.
The game picks up a year after Alice freed herself from the asylum. But she’s still suffering as a result of the fire which killed her family – and still haunted by questions about that fateful night.
When asked about Alice’s sanity this time around, McGee responds:
Alice’s sanity is less in focus this time around, though it’s clear she’ll never be ‘sane’ in the way a normal person might be.
McGee also commented that there is no 3rd Alice game in development as of yet, but as things often do in the industry, that might change, depending on what the audience desires.
For the rest of the interview, you’re going to have to head on over to their site and give it a read. Fans won’t be disappointed!
