NIS America and Rising Star Games have announced today a brand new limited edition for Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut on PlayStation 3. It may seem a bit late for a Limited Edition of a two year old re-release to a five year old game to come out, but hell, why not? We need all the help we can get to prove a sequel is financially viable.
Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut – Classified Edition contains a 30+ page art book, 25-song OST, custom 54-card Bicycle brand card deck, a voucher for DLC and special packaging. The Classified Edition is set to release November 24, 2015 in limited quantities for $49.99.
Also – oddly enough, the Classified Edition‘s art book contains a Greenvale map made by friend of the site, Whitney Chavis. She worked with Rising Star Games to produce a companion app for Deadly Premonition two years ago. She was not contacted regarding the use of her map in the Classified Edition, opening the door to potential issues if the publisher didn’t have explicit ownership of the image from that point on and now intends to sell a product with it included. Here’s hoping that gets resolved as more Deadly Premonition the better.
Update: Rising Star Games got back to Whitney very quickly and they have resolved the matter!
